Berlin...
Alright! Here we go again! Back to writing!
It had been a while...
Hmm...
I spent a couple of weeks in Berlin last month.
This writing is my best effort to capture the experience in words.
I call it wordshot.
And yeah! I made that up!
I arrived in Berlin in the middle of a sunny Friday (☀️ 22°C).
I immediately felt the high energy of the city.
The streets of Berlin — just the right balance of order and chaos.
Berlin has a good vibe, though.
If "feel the magic in the air" was a place, it would probably be somewhere in Berlin.
Speaking of "magic in the air"... I've got a song for you from 2014.
Psst, Gen Z says it's a classic.
At first, Berlin felt like a weird place. A bit dystopic.
The street wall paintings seemed cluttered, messy, and out of place.
I found myself asking, "Is this place real?"
The more I stayed, the more I liked Berlin.
It also helps that I can use Turkish to get by.
Gradually, my initial shock and judgmental reflex took a back seat.
I liked how unorthodox Berlin is compared to other capitals.
The busy traffic, hustle culture, people stepping on each other — Berlin is like, "You know what, I'm just gonna chill."
Berlin also has got culture.
If you ask me what makes a city special, I would say what it allows people to experience.
For that, I give Berlin an A+.
It is where I found people passionate about language learning.
It is where I made new connections after overhearing strangers speaking Lithuanian at a crosswalk.
It is where I saw for the first time what a unicorn startup looks like.
Usually, rare things in life fall into the category you know it when you see it.
I guess unicorns are also like that! It's good to build that library.
